My Thanksgiving Day Prayer

My Thanksgiving Day Prayer
That I May Be Truly Thankful For All My Blessings!
My dear loving Father in Heaven, whose glory filled all things, this is the time when I come to You not with a wish or a plea, but with a song - a song of Thanksgiving for You!

You know how many times I come to You with questions and fears.  Yet, truly I am thankful that You always calm my fears and answer my questions.

But today, my dear Father, I come to You for I want to learn to be thankful for all my blessings, for such blessings as love and health and happy friendships and home life.

Help me, my dear Father, to be thankful for what I have - so that starting with that, You may increase it more and more.  May I always be thankful for all these good things, dear Father - for my life and my living and for the wonderful joy of family, especially for my mom who already in Your Kingdom had helped me understand the wonder of Your love, for my faithful friends, and to all my new friends in the blogging community and other co-bloggers who, just like me, have a lot to share too around the world.  For I believe each of us are here for a reason.

Yes, help me to be doubly thankful for this privilege of praying to You, my dear Father.  But above all, may I be thankful for Your greatest gift, Your Son, my Saviour, who, though He was great, humbled himself that I might live more abundantly and be lifted up.  In His name.
- Amen

I Named My Plant Oxima

When I arrived here in Jeddah, 4 years ago, I bought some indoor plants and placed them in my flat.  I thought that it would be nice to have something fresh with me every day.

But unfortunately I do not have that what they called “green palms”, so that one by one they started to get dry and die.  Plus the weather here is really hot especially during summer season. You bet I always have my air-condition on.  And when I go for my holidays, there is no one who I could ask a favor to water them.  By then of course the room temperature would become too hot.  For sure the plants could be cooked. :)

I will be gone usually 3 weeks and sometime a month, so every time I get back from vacation, I would be crazy to water them and do the best I can to save them. But no matter what I do, they continued to wither.  I was disappointed so I just left them, I meant literally just let them to die.  I never watered them anymore.

One day I did a general cleaning in my flat so I've got to get rid of those things that are of no longer useful for me.

I was about to dispose the remaining plant left in my flat because most of its leaves were dried, I thought this plant won't make it too.

But then when I saw a little bud of new leaf growing just beside its limb.  I was amazed!  I said, "Wow! Of all the plants this one made it. In spite of what I did, I don't know how she did it but the thing was she survived!

This plant inspired me and thought me a lesson.  No matter what the circumstances may be, I should never ever give up, I must move on and passionately pursue my mission.

...And So I fixed it up and then I asked what name it would like to be called.

That night I dreamt of the word “OXIMA” so that’s where I get its name.

Are you familiar with "Lexigram"?  Because I lexigram the word OXIMA and I came up with this words from it:

Oxi/Oxy-root word of oxygen and oxygen is air and we need air to breath, to live, to have a life and become alive.

Ma- we called our mother in short Ma.  Plants are living things  and  so basically they are the natures arounds us, the beauty of the earth materials and the mother earth itself that are within us.

With these 2 words in my mind, I understand why this plant stayed with me.
I made this blog for this special plant named "Oxima" :)

I read this poem from one of my favorite books about Lexigrams.  I thought this would be awesome to share with all of my co-bloggers...  And perhaps you may find it interesting to lexigram a word, a name, a title or phrase too, which is really fun to do. :)
words divine, words sublime...  holy, holy words !
a picture is worth ten thousand words
so the Oriental sages say...  and therefore is the higher
nay, nay...  for shame !
for it takes words to tell...  even of that ancient claim
the hidden glory of every story
shines forth in words, words, words !
the miracle of the Easter gladness
overcoming death's morbid sadness
is told in words, words, words !

words have wings, like birds
to fly through the sky of the mind

...  be ye aS wiSe aS a Serpent
yet aS harmleSS aS a dove...

words...  those mysterious scribbles on a page
holding the wisdom of every age
the experience and teaching of every sage

oh!  the beautiful rhyming of the proper timing
of words !

powerful words, that ring with truth
words that sing, forsooth  !
yes, words that ring and words that sing
words of spring and every good thing...  like kitties

I Run You Over The Mountain

Would you rather climb a mountain

or run a marathon?

mmmmm  I like to do both.
Why not? I believe both are fun to do... How about you?

Horseback Riding
Climbing a mountain or running a marathon? Well neither of them I have... so I would not have any idea which of which I'd prefer..But I love actions and adventures and learn new skills and mountain climbing is one of the sports I would like to experience because my kids do it and they seem to have lots of fun from it. Also when I was a teenager I used to run with my mom and dad every morning but just around our village and it was fun, so I guess I would like to run a marathon too in the future. And If given a chance and opportunity I would love to do both. But right now I have my eyes on doing sport in Horseback Riding. :)

Taken With Strange Musical Note

I am like in the dark room
where I patiently roam
With eyes open wide
but sightless I ride
Hear only charms of sound
nowhere else bound
But the amazing is
this noise of note bliss
It calms all my fear
all blessed dreams felt near
In this moment of hope
I trust, I wonder, I cope
This fresh note not a ghost
It found me when I was lost
Out from this rocky road
Music plays, voices blend
Sunshine sheers as gold!

Street Artist

Street Artist Edgar Mueller is back! contributed by: Cookie G.

Hard to believe that these are drawn on a FLAT sidewalk surface...  Enjoy!
He spent 5 days working 12 hours a day to create a 250 square meter image of the crevasse which viewed from the correct angle appears to be 3D. He then persuaded the passers-by to complete the illusion by pretending the gaping hole was real. He said, "I wanted to play with positives and negatives to encourage people to think twice about everything they see. It was a very scary scene but when people saw it  they had great fun playing on it and pretending to fall into the earth.I like to think that later when they returned home, they might reflect more on what a frightening scenario it was and say, Wow that was actually pretty scary!"

This guy is amazing no matter how you look at it!

A Risk Worth Taking...

I was so nervous, I thought, I wasn't gonna make it alive!

Scuba Diving in depths of the ocean
I like to learn new skill and somehow I like to see the world under water so I thought scuba diving would be very interesting. I enrolled in the Open Sea Course even I am not a good swimmer. I'm only good at floating. Hahaha.

I was glad I did it! I was able to enjoy the world under the sea!

It was really A Risk Worth Taking!
